Hearing God in Dreams, Signs, and Daily Moments — A Conversation with Caleb Matthews
One of the most fascinating conversations we’ve had on Unmasked comes from international speaker, dream interpreter, and spiritual strategist Caleb Matthews. His journey is unique, bold, unconventional—and unbelievably practical for anyone hungry for deeper spiritual clarity.
For more than 20 years, Caleb has traveled across Africa, North America, Asia, and beyond teaching people how to hear God’s voice, understand dreams, break unhealthy agreements, and step into their God-given design with confidence. His work ranges from Bible colleges to open-air crusades to New Age festivals, where he interprets dreams, speaks through parables, and leads people toward truth in a way they can actually receive.
In this episode, Caleb unpacks his testimony and reveals how God speaks through what he calls “C-links”—divine connections in both your day and night seasons.
Let’s dive deeper.
A Childhood Marked by the Voice of God
Caleb’s story begins at six years old, when he started experiencing dreams and visions that were clearly beyond the imagination of a child.
Growing up homeschooled in a Christian family, his parents taught him something many of us never learned: God speaks through dreams—He always has, and He still does.
Caleb shares a surprising fact:
👉 One-third of the Bible is dreams, visions, and supernatural encounters.
From Joseph to Daniel to Isaiah to Paul, God often speaks in the night when we are finally quiet enough to listen.
This early training would shape Caleb’s life and calling for decades to come.
From Homeschooler to Missionary in Africa
At 18, while most teenagers were applying to college or starting entry-level jobs, Caleb was traveling across Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, and Tanzania—preaching the gospel and interpreting dreams.
His family funded their own missionary trips by working long hours in their family landscaping business. Caleb shares stories of:
• Reaching entire villages that had never seen a Westerner
• Speaking on Tanzanian radio to millions
• Preaching outdoors during the World Cup craze
• Seeing spiritual hunger in some of the world’s most remote places
But what shaped him most was the realization that the Spirit of God is the great equalizer. Whether standing in a mud hut or a modern church, the message is the same:
God is speaking. God is pursuing. God is moving.
Dream Interpretation in Unlikely Places
One of the most surprising parts of Caleb’s story is his ministry in New Age festivals—including Salem’s Haunted Happenings and other spiritual gatherings around the world.
Instead of showing up with street-preaching megaphones, they set up dream interpretation booths.
Why?
Because Jesus Himself used parables to reach people who weren’t ready for direct religious conversation.
Caleb explains:
“When you speak in parables, you’re not watering down truth—you’re opening the door for hunger.”
Hundreds of people from dozens of belief systems have encountered God through conversations about their dreams.
The Three-Step Framework: Construct, Conform, Contract
In the episode, Caleb shares a framework that can help anyone get back into alignment with God.
1. CONSTRUCT — What tools has God given uniquely to you?
Just like David couldn’t wear Saul’s armor, you can’t walk out your design using someone else’s tools, calling, or rhythm.
Ask:
What has God placed in my hands?
What fits my identity, not someone else’s expectations?
2. CONFORM — What image are you shaping yourself after?
Caleb contrasts two images:
The world’s “golden statue” (Daniel 3)
Christ’s voice calling us higher (Revelation 4)
Ask:
Am I conforming to culture or to Christ?
Who am I trying to impress, and why?
What sound governs my decisions?
3. CONTRACT — What agreements have I made?
Your life is shaped by the agreements you’ve said “yes” to—whether spoken aloud or silently accepted.
Ask:
What lies have I believed?
What shame or fear have I partnered with?
What contracts with people or ideas need to be broken?
What truths and promises should I re-commit to?
What To Do If You Feel Stuck
Caleb’s advice is simple and profound:
👉 Ask God to show you the links.
He calls them C-links—moments, encounters, symbols, and themes that God uses to get your attention.
It could be:
• A recurring dream
• A conversation with a stranger
• A scripture that keeps surfacing
• A moment that feels “charged” with meaning
• A recurring symbol or phrase
• A sense of peace or tension around a decision
Caleb encourages listeners to pray:
“God, open my eyes to the links in my day and night. Show me what You’re saying.”
You don’t need to force spiritual growth.
You only need to pay attention.
How to Share Christ Without Being Pushy
One of the most practical parts of this episode is Caleb’s advice for talking about faith with unbelievers.
He encourages:
• Using parables
• Asking curious questions
• Letting your life be the testimony
• Avoiding “Christianese”
• Offering insights, not pressure
• Inviting, not forcing
Your job isn’t to close the deal—it’s to open a door.
